Da Nang lies at the center of three World Heritage sites in Vietnam—the imperial city of Hue, the ancient city of Hoi An, and My Son Sanctuary. It is also one ending point of the East-West Economic Corridor and therefore a gateway to Myanmar, Thailand and Laos.  With a 60km coastline, the city boasts some beautiful beaches with clear water. Da Nang beach was voted one of the six best beaches in the world by the US’s Forbes magazine in 2005.

Last year, Da Nang welcomed more than 3 million tourists, including 750,000 foreign tourists. The number of Russian visitors to Danang, however, remains modest—just 4,000 in 2013. Of Da Nang’s tourism potential, Mr Alechxay Yankin, general director of Profit Travel Company, said: “Vietnam is one of the most attractive destinations for Russian tourists during their winter vacation thanks to its wonderful beaches. I have been to Vietnam twice and have had a chance to visited many beautiful places including Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Hue, Ha Long, Ho Chi Minh, and Hanoi. I think that more tourism promotion activities are needed in Russia to attract the large number of tourists in this market.”
