Death toll rises in Israeli raids, draws international criticism

(VOVWORLD) -Eight Palestinians have so far died and 50 have been injured by Israeli actions in the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Monday.

The Ministry said the death toll is expected to increase as there are many victims in critical condition. 188 people have been killed since the beginning of the year.

The Israeli military said its forces struck a building that served as a command center in Jenin and drones have carried out 10 attacks on other targets in the area.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned Israel’s attacks, and called on the UN Security Council to take responsibility, implement a solution, and provide protection to the Palestinian people.

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States strongly condemned the Israeli operation in Jenin and expressed solidarity with the victims. The League says it holds the occupying forces responsible for this aggression, calling it a war crime, a violation of international law, and a hindrance to peace efforts.

The Foreign Ministries of Jordan, Egypt, Iran, and Qatar condemned Israel's escalation and aggression against Jenin. They warned against the perpetuation of violence and urged the international community to take immediate action to prevent any further Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories.
