(VOVworld) - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh received on Friday the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary to the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Scot Marciel, on a working visit to Vietnam. Vinh told his guest that in recent years, the Vietnam-US relations have grown considerably as evidenced by their establishment of a strategic partnership and strengthened defense cooperation in such areas as personnel training, humanitarian aid and responses to natural disasters. Scot Marciel, in turn, suggested both sides should further enhance bilateral cooperation in information sharing, high-level military delegation exchanges and the settlement of the aftermaths of war.
