Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son visits Ireland

(VOVworld) - Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son visited the Republic of Ireland this week. He met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Eamon Gilmore, held talks with Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Joe Costello, and held a working session with the Director of Ireland’s Development Cooperation Agency.

During talks, the two sides expressed pleasure at the vigorous development of bilateral ties, particularly in trade and investment. They praised cooperation and mutual support at international forums and organizations and agreed on a number of measures to improve bilateral relations in the coming years. Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also attended the  Fourth  EU-Asia Top Economist Round Table and the Asia-Ireland Trade and Investment Conference. He also briefed the Vietnamese community in Ireland on Vietnam’s socio-economic situation and major policies, encouraging them to further contribute to friendship between the two countries and Vietnam’s development.
