Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh made the remarks in Hanoi on Friday at a meeting with Russia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov who is in Vietnam to attend the two countries’ 11th diplomatic–defense-security strategic dialogue. Mr. Minh spoke highly of both sides’ efforts in maintaining  bilateral strategic dialogue  to ensure informational exchanges and mutual support  to complete their political tasks.

He emphasized the need for both sides to sustain close coordination at multilateral forums, enhance exchanges of regional and international issues, especially those concerning peace and security, as Vietnam is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council during the 2020-2021 tenure and ASEAN Chair 2020.

Mr. Titov affirmed that Russia will continue to closely cooperate with Vietnam to develop the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields while contributing to maintaining peace, security, and cooperation in the region and the world at large.
