Deputy PM holds bilateral talks on ASEAN Foreign Ministerial Meeting’s sidelines

(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met Foreign Ministers of the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia during the 30th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Manila on Friday.

In a meeting with Filipino Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Enrique Manalo, both agreed to boost time-honored cooperation, exchanges of high level visits, and joint efforts in combating piracy. In a meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, both agreed to cooperate further in the Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation. Meanwhile with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, both agreed to accelerate talks on the delineation of the exclusive economic zones in the sea areas where their continental shelf is delineated and boost economic cooperation to achieve 10 billion dollar trade revenue next year. They agreed to consolidate ASEAN unity as well as peace and stability in the East Sea, towards a Code of Conducts for Parties in the East Sea.
