(VOVworld) -  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh has asked An Giang province to stay prepared to make full use of economic development opportunities once the ASEAN Economic Community is established later this year. At a working session on Tuesday with the province’s leaders, Minh called for a thorough assessment of border gates before proposing that the government upgrade them to international standards. Visiting border soldiers at the Long Binh border station and the Tinh Bien border gate, he asked them to continue striving to ensure a stable border route for local socio-economic development, helping protect national unity and security.
