Deputy PM suggests Airbus help Vietnam with aviation strategy

(VOVWORLD) -Airbus can support Vietnam in the process of mapping out strategies and plans to develop the aviation industry, human resource training, research, technology transfer, and production of components and equipment in the global value chain of the Airbus Group, said Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

Ha added Airbus can also help expand new areas of cooperation such as aerospace, satellites, helicopters, military science and technology, rescue, security, and defense.

Deputy Prime Minister Ha met Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President Global Business at Airbus Helicopters (Airbus Group affiliate) in Hanoi on Wednesday.

He praised the results of cooperation and business between Airbus Group and Vietnamese partners in technology, management experience, techniques, and products which he said have been criteria for Vietnamese partners to expand their  sustainable, long-term cooperation with Airbus.

Michalon called Vietnam a key market for Airbus Group’s civil and specialized helicopters, saying Airbus Helicopters Global Group will focus on investing in research activities, technology transfer, pilot and engineer training, and maintenance of new generation helicopters in Vietnam.
