Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh meets leaders of Italy’s High Council of the Judiciary

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh introduced Vietnam’s judicial system and its progress in judicial reform to leaders of Italy’s High Council of the Judiciary at Friday’s working session, as part of Mr. Binh ongoing visit to Italy.

 He also informed the Council of the implementation of the national strategy on judiciary reform by 2020, which aims to develop a judicial system of total transparency and democracy, which strictly defends justice and human rights.

Mr. Binh spoke highly of the role of Italy’s High Council of the Judiciary and said he hopes the Council will increase cooperation, exchange of experience, and provide technical support to Vietnam’s People's Supreme Court.

Judge Sebastiano Ardita said the Council is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to ensure the integrity of the judicial system, and is interested in gaining more knowledge about judiciary reform of countries like Vietnam and some Eastern European countries.

Both sides agreed on the need to promote cooperation between the two governments, judicial agencies, and soon to sign a cooperative agreement between the two supreme courts.
