At a reception for Hodo Nakamura, Governor of Japan’s Nagasaki prefecture in Hanoi on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam considered the local cooperation one important factor in advancing Vietnam’s relations with Japan in an effective manner. Stressing Nakasaki prefecture’s strength in tourism and fisheries which are also priority fields of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province in central Vietnam, Phuc urged the two sides to boost cooperation in these areas. He said the Vietnamese government will work to improve Vietnam’s investment environment to facilitate investment, especially by Japan. He said he hopes the Governor and the leaders of Nagasaki will pay more attention to cooperation with Vietnam, promote people-to-people exchanges and support the Vietnamese nationals in Nagasaki.

Nakamura called on the Vietnamese Government to create more favourable conditions for Japanese businesses, including those from Nagasaki prefecture, to operate long-term businesses in Vietnam.
