Deputy Prime Minister pays tribute to superior Buddhist monk Thich Chon Thien

(VOVworld) – Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh laid a wreath and paid tribute to superior Buddhist monk Thich Chon Thien in Hue city on Sunday.

Mr. Binh wrote in the mourning book that Thich Chon Thien, a dignitary of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha, was a bright example of dedication for country, religion, and the nation. He was Vice Chairman of Executive Council of the Shangha and a 4-term National Assembly deputy. He represented the spirit of service and the close connection between religion and nation and was awarded many distinguished titles, including Independence Order and Order of Great National Unity.

Superior Buddhist monk Thich Chon Thien passed away at 10.50 on November 8 at the age 74 due to an illness.
