(VOVworld)- Deputy Head of the Government Office Nguyen Khac Dinh said ministries, sectors, and localities have extensively responded to the National Assembly Resolution on implementing this year’s socio-economic development tasks.

Dinh was speaking at the government press conference on Monday: “In the last two months have, we maintained macro-economic stability and low CPI. We increased the export value earning more than 860 million USD. The budget collection increased sharply. The growth was also reported in the industrial, service and agricultural sectors. Foreign arrivals to Vietnam increased 16%. Improvements were also performed in social aspect, health care, education, and employment”.

Dinh said Vietnamese enterprises are likely to suffer from competiveness pressures because the world’s economic growth and global trade are forecast to go down this year. He urged ministries and sectors to be more aware of possible challenges to turn them into opportunities. Dinh stressed the need to make more efforts to cope with natural disasters including salt intrusion in the Mekong River Delat, drought in the central and central highlands region. Also at the press conference, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong responded to questions about narrowing the bar gold market: “The State Bank of Vietnam has put in place multiple measures to stabilize the gold market. Narrowing the gold ingot market is part of efforts to fine-tune the monetary policy and strengthen monetary management”.
