EP to vote on von der Leyen as EC chief on July 16
(VOVWORLD) - The European Parliament will vote next Tuesday on Ursula von der Leyen’s nomination to head the European Commission, a parliament spokesman said.

Concerns over her chances of winning the endorsement of the EU assembly fed rumors that the vote might be delayed. Leaders of 28 EU member countries agreed on a list of key officials for the next term.
German defence minister Ursula von der Leyen was nominated at the EU summit last Sunday. But she must win at least 374 votes to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as EC President.
