(VOVworld) – Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya Martin Kobler said Sunday that the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration was among the major challenges facing the Libyan government.

According to Mr. Kobler, nearly 100,000 illegal immigrants from several Agrican countries have arrived in Italy via Libya recently. Humanitarian issues are another challenge for the Libyan government and the international community. Kobler called on the international community to make more concerted efforts to support the institutions of Libya without intervening in the country’s domestic affairs.
