Entitled ‘Hoang Sa, Truong Sa-Vietnam’s sovereignty’, the exhibition is presented in three parts: Vietnam’s Hoang Sa, Truong Sa archipelagos-historical evidence; Protecting the sovereignty over Hoang Sa, Truong Sa; and Hoang Sa, Truong Sa in the heart of Vietnamese people and international friends.

Also on display is newly-collected material such as Mai Kim Quy’s birth certificate, which was granted by the French administrative agency in Hoang Sa in 1940. Colonel Nguyen Xuan Nang, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said the exhibition provides viewers with precise historical evidence confirming Vietnam’s continuous sovereignty over the archipelagoes. Nang said:

The exhibition aims to increase public awareness about Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes and shows our determination to safeguard the nation’s sacred sovereignty. The event is also to honor the forces who have fought for the islands so far.

On the same day, a similar exhibition with 400 items divided into 5 topics opened in Thua Thien Hue province.
