Ngoc Hung, a freshman at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, was waiting at 5 a.m. for a ride from Ho Chi Minh City to his home in Dien Chau district, Nghe An province.

“I’m very happy. It’s such a nice experience for me. I’m looking forward to seeing my relatives at home.”

Ms. Bui Thi Tam, who works in Ho Chi Minh City, was delighted to be going home.

“Everyone is so excited. In order to enjoy a sufficient and happy Tet, we were given vouchers, gifts, and essential goods,” said Tam.

During these “Trains of Spring”, 2,200 disadvantaged students and workers will be brought home to the Central and Central Highland regions.

For the Lunar New Year 2024, the HCM City Student Assistance Centre created 4,000 jobs and gave 2,000 Tet gifts and 150 free train tickets to disadvantaged students.
