Garment, fruit and vegetable exports sharply increase

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s textile and garment export revenues for the first five months of 2019 totalled 14.5 billion USD, 9% more than the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

Garment exports exceeded 11 billion USD and fibre exports earned 1.6 billion USD.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable export valued 424 million USD in May, bringing the total export value of those products in the first five months to more than 1.8 billion USD. China remained Vietnam’s top market for fruit and vegetable exports, followed by the US, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.
