Earlier, the first meeting of two sides on Saturday focused mainly on humanitarian issues in Homs City, according to Brahimi. Although the Saturday meeting produced no significant results, it was the first meeting of the two sides in 3 years. Brahimi added that the core issues will not be discussed during the first days of the meeting, saying that humanitarian issues are the starting point of more difficult negotiations with an ambition to ending the war and restoring peace and security.
