(VOVworld) - Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday issued a joint statement on a comprehensive strategic partnership.

In the statement, the two countries agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership including the organization of consultations in politics and security policies in the region and the world. Both sides agreed to foster bilateral cooperation for the benefits of Europe, Asia and for peace, prosperity and sustainable development of the world. They agreed on the need to make full use of their 60 cooperation mechanisms. Germany and China also decided to develop their strategic dialogue into a strategic dialogue on external relations policies and security. Germany showed its support to the peaceful development in the relations between two Taiwan straits and the “One-China” policy.
