(VOVworld) - Germany Deputy Foreign Minister and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel is paying a three-day official visit to Cuba to discuss business cooperation.

The visit was made for the first time by a German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy over the past 15 years. During the visit, Mr. Sigmar Gabriel is expected to meet some Cuban Ministers and attend a Germany-Cuba Business Forum.
Martin Wansleben, Director of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, said the visit is a positive sign, proving that Cuba has become an attractive destination to German investors.
At present, around 50 German enterprises are doing business in Cuba. Two-way trade turnover in 2014 was 224 million euros.
