(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia held a get-together for Russian and Vietnamese business and media representatives in Moscow yesterday/ on Thursday.

Ambassador Pham Xuan Son highlighted the growing bilateral  ties in various fields despite the negative impact of the global economic crisis. He said the two-way trade turnover hit a record high of more than 3.6 billion USD in 2012. He added that the two countries are going ahead with a number of projects as approved at the 15th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation. Talking about the role of Russian and Vietnamese businesses in boosting the bilateral ties Son said: “Business between two countries plays a very important role in bolstering ties in the areas of economics and trade and revitalizing projects relevant to these fields. The businesses of Vietnam and Russia have shown the need to complete the cooperation system started by these projects and agreements, to the conditions of the Free Trade Agreement. I believe that the mission of the two countries businesses is to  be more interactive in order to reach two-way trade turnover of 7 billion  USD by 2015.”

Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Son also highly praised the role of the Russian media in introducing to Russian people about the land and people of Vietnam and other important friendly events between two countries. He hoped that more information about Vietnam and its ties with Russia would be widespread on Russian media.
