Government convenes regular meeting for October

(VOVworld)- On Saturday, at the government’s monthly meeting for October, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam achieved an economic growth of 5.93% in the third quarter which posed a great challenge for the target of 6.3% to 6.5% this year.

With strong determination to achieve the set target, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked cabinet members to make all-out efforts to gain a growth of 7.1 to 7.3% in the fourth quarter: “The growth concerns different indicators including public debts. Ministries and sectors need to discuss thoroughly ways to achieve the set growth target of 6.3% to 6.5% this year. We need to focus on measures to disburse investment capital”.

The Prime Minister also urged for strengthened measures to ensure the inflation rate of 5% for the whole year. He asked cabinet members to prepare for Q&A sessions at the NA in November. Reviewing the government’s activities in October, the Prime Minister praised the government’s successful hosting of the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit and the 7th Ayaaywadi-Chao Phraya-Mekong Summit. He said through these events, Vietnam demonstrated its role in the region and the world and learned experience to host the APEC 2017.
