(VOVworld) – The government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday deliberated 7 bills and ordinances, including amendments and supplements to the Law on Emulation and Rewards, Law on Fire Prevention and Control, Law on Corporate Income Tax, Law on Value Added Tax, Law on reception of citizens, Ordinance on defence work at ministerial level agencies, and Ordinance on the use of weapons explosives and supportive tools. Regarding the draft Law on Corporate Income Tax, government members focused on the level of general tax, preferential tax for expanded investment, and enterprises operating in agriculture and rural development. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the impact the law may have on society and investment attraction: “The revision of laws should serve the restructuring of the national economy and shifting growth model by developing agriculture, rural areas, processing and high technology. We need o attract foreign investment and to increase our competitive edge. The adjustment of the law takes into consideration of facilitating foreign investment.”
