(VOVworld) – Activities are underway to kick off the 2014 Cat Ba Tourism Year. A ceremony to open the event was held on Sunday, which also marked the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Cat Hai district on March 31st, 1959, and the Day of Vietnam’s Fisheries sector on April 1st.
A festival goer, Ta Van Sau, tod us: "My friends and I planned well in advance to visit Cat Ba on this occasion. The atmosphere here is very exciting; the local people are friendly and hospitable. I will come back to Cat Ba again next year for sure as I find the scenery here very beautiful."
Festival activities include a fish worshiping ritual, a volley ball tournament, and boat racing.
