Ms. Ngan made the remark at a ceremony on Saturday to mark 10 years of expanding Hanoi’s administrative boundary. Among the attendees were Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

“Hanoi needs to promote a knowledge-based economy for rapid and sustainable development, restructure the growth model, and improve competitiveness. Efforts should also be made to build new-style rural areas to ensure equal development across the city,” Madam Ngan noted.

At the ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang presented Independence Order, first class, to Hanoi authorities and people.
