Hanoi to host event promoting cultures of northern ethnic minority groups

(VOVWORLD) - A series of activities featuring the unique cultures of ethnic minorities across Vietnam will take place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi to mark the upcoming National Reunification (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays.

The events will begin on Friday and run through next Tuesday with the highlight being a mountain market-day to display handicraft products, typical cuisine, and traditional art performances of ethnic minorities in Son La province.

There will also be the reproduction of the New Year bell dancing festival of the Dao ethnic group, the festival to pray for rain of the Thai ethnic group, and rituals to pray for peace and blessing at Khmer pagodas and Cham towers.
