Head of North Korea’s parliament to attend FIFA World Cup in Russia

(VOVWORLD) - President of the Presidium of North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam will attend the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Moscow on June 14.

The opening ceremony will be held at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium. Mr. Kim will also attend the opening match between Russian and Saudi Arabian national teams. He will attend meetings after that though no further information has been confirmed.

Within the framework of his visit to Pyongyang, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov invited North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to visit Russia and hold talks with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. The time to talks can be in the Eastern Economic Forum, scheduled to take place this September in Vladivostok.
