Ho Chi Minh city celebrates 40th anniversary of southern liberation, national reunification

(VOVworld)- On Monday, the National Committee for Organizing Major Celebrations inaugurated the Press Center for Communications to commemorate the 40th anniversary of anniversary of southern liberation, and national reunification.

A photo exhibition “War memories” by photographer Hoang Van Sac and another called “50 years of Vietnam-War and Peace” by Japanese photographer and war correspondent Ishikawa Bunyo opened at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday. Chau Phuoc Hiep is Deputy Director of the Museum: “The exhibitions will help foreign friends and Vietnamese people better understand the anti-US war of Vietnam’s people. They also contribute to promoting Vietnamese traditions and remind the younger generations of their predecessors’ great contribution to national construction and defense”.

On the same day, the city’s Library held a book exhibition themed “National Reunification”. Nearly 10,000 books are on display chronicling Vietnam’s liberation struggles and national development.
