Ho Chi Minh City continues stable development

(VOVworld) - Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has reviewed socio-economic development his year and plans for next year. The municipal GDP this year was 9.6% with revenue from goods and services surpassed 655 trillion dong, a 12.5% increase.

The city now has more than 24,000 businesses with an additional 288 trillion VND of newly registered capital. 429 new FDI projects were licensed capitalised at more than 3 billion dollars. The city will focus on economic development and social welfare with a projected GDP growth of 9.5% next year, 266 trillion VND of revenue collected to the state budget, below 1% of poor households, and all citizens access to safe water.
The People’s Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan was speaking in the review meeting on Saturday: “Resources should be directed to production growth and credit organizations. Major political events will take place next year which will be encouragement source for the fulfilment of the 5 year plan from 2011 to 2015.”
