Hong Kong civil servants started coming back to work on Monday.

The Hong Kong government met with representatives of the students union on Monday and both sides agreed to hold talks on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and, if their talks flourished, the government would abide by their agreement. This was the second meeting between the government and the students union after their first meeting on Sunday failed.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying condemned recent clashes in Mongkok District and said that the government would do its best to restore normal daily activities. A third round of talks is scheduled to be held on Tuesday.
