Hung Temple Festival opens

(VOVWORLD) - The Hung King's Commemoration - Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture-Tourism Week 2024 officially open today in Phu Tho province with a range of attractive cultural activities. 

The events honor patriotic traditions, rekindle the spirit of "remembering the source of the water we drink", the great national unity, and gratefulness for the ancestors’ merits.

Le Truong Giang, Director of Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, said: “We have refurbished the facilities to the best conditions to serve pilgrims and tourists. We have well prepared the worship structures, reception area for tourists, security and order and traffic safety to create the friendliest environment for visitors.”

At the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, many traditional ceremonies will be reenacted such as an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings, flower offering ceremony at the bas-relief "President Ho Chi Minh talked to officials and soldier of the Pioneer Army", the death anniversary of Lac Long Quan, the legendary father of the Vietnamese nation, and an incense offering ceremony to mother Au Co.

There will be traditional folk activities, such as a palanquin procession, performances of lion and dragon dance, bronze drum, making banh chung contest, pounding banh giay, Xoan singing and Phu Tho folk singing.
