Improving national press quality
(VOVworld) – State management of the press and a plan for Vietnam’s press until 2020 topped the Sunday TV program “citizens ask, minister answers” with Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son. Minister Son said the government’s promulgation of a number of regulations and decrees in 2013, including those on the management of internet services and online information, and punishments of administrative violations in publications, have helped strengthen state management of the press. He added that to improve the management activities, it’s important to improve the awareness of internet users.
Minister Son reiterated the importance of a plan for the press’s strong future development. He said this should reduce the number of press agencies and create policies to build a higher quality press for Vietnam.
