International Francophone Day marked in Vietnam

(VOVworld) – The International Organisation of Francophonie (OIF) will host diverse activities across Vietnam to mark International Francophone Day on March 20th.

An official ceremony will take place at Hanoi Opera House organized by the Asia Pacific Regional Office of the OIF and the Group of Francophone embassies and international delegations to Vietnam (GADIF). On this occasion, Honorary and Francophone Youth Awards 2017 will be presented.

A concert featuring Belgian singer Axelle Red will take place in Hanoi next Saturday, in Can Tho next Sunday, and in Ho Chi Minh City on March 20.

Twenty five artists from the Romanian art troupe Doina Oltului will perform for 3 days in Hanoi and 1 day in Ho Chi Minh City. The troupe will join Canadian and Wallonie-Bruxelles artists in a show in Hanoi.

The 10th French Film Week Festival will begin next Sunday in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, and Vinh.

Le Courrier du Vietnam, a weekly French language newspaper published by the Vietnam News Agency, has launched the 2017 competition “Young Francophone Reporters –Vietnam” for all people aged 18 to 35 living in Vietnam.

Themed “I like and I share”, the International Francophone Day will be celebrated in 84 countries.
