Iran and six world powers have been negotiating in Vienna since April to work out steps for both sides to take to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, from which former US President Donald Trump withdrew the US in 2018.

EU High Representative Josep Borell said revival of the JCPOA is possible after Ebrahim Raisi took office as Iran’s President.
Borell said the parties are coming very close to a deal that will stabilize the Middle East and reduce difficulties for Iran’s economy, which has suffered from US sanctions since 2018.
