Iraqi Prime Minister orders further security measures

(VOVworld) - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered changes to security measures on Sunday after a bombing that killed more than 100 people in Baghdad. He asked the security forces to stop using the fake hand-held bomb detectors at check-points.

Abadi also directed that the Interior Ministry speed up the deployment of a device for searching vehicles at all entrances to Baghdad and that security personnel at checkpoints not use their mobile phones while on duty.

Other security measures include stepping up aerial reconnaissance and intelligence efforts, increasing coordination among security forces, and reorganizing checkpoints in the capital.
