Wearing brown military-style fatigues, the assassin made a statement in Russian, at one point raising the knife and threatening to attack Russia and President Vladimir Putin.
The execution comes amid Russia’s stepped-up bombing campaign against IS in Syria. The SITE, an intelligence group, said the video is purported to have been released from the IS stronghold of Raqqa, Iraq, but its authenticity has not been verified. The Russian Foreign Ministry and intelligence agency have not yet commented on the video.
