Japanese airlines mull cutting more international flights

(VOVWORLD) - Major airlines in Japan say they are considering suspending or cutting more international flights after Japan's foreign ministry issued a travel alert for the entire world on Wednesday, and urged people to refrain from making non-essential overseas trips.

The travel alert is expected to cause a further decline in the number of passengers. Japanese airlines have already suspended or reduced flights on a number of international routes, including to China, South Korea, Europe, and the US, because of the coronavirus pandemic. Japan Airlines has already slashed its international flights by 71 percent, and All Nippon Airways 65 percent.
