At a press conference in Riyadh with Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal said the nuclear agreement will not be part of a major deal with Iran and Washington will continue to give full support to Gulf allies to prevent Iran’s interference. Earlier, at a meeting with King Salman and Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Kerr said that even as the US engages in these discussions with Iran about its nuclear program, they will not take their eye off Iran’s destabilizing actions in places like Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and the Arabian peninsula, Yemen in particular.

Regarding the civil war in Syria, Kerry said military pressure -  through supplying weapons and training to the opposition - is necessary to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
