Laos praises Vietnamese volunteer soldiers

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military advisers to Laos helped establish and develop the Lao People's Liberation Army, which together with the Vietnamese forces in Laos, defeated their common enemy to achieve independence for both countries. Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathoutu spoke at a reception on Tuesday in Vientiane for visiting Lieutenant General Nguyen Tien Long, Deputy Head of the Liaison Board for Former Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Specialists to Laos. Yathoutu called Long’s visit significant as the two armies celebrate the 65th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts on missions to Laos.

Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation met with Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith and Lao Minister of National Defense Sengnouane Xayalath, and visited the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate in Laos.
