Deputy Pham Trong Nghia of Lang Son province said that the law is closely linked to human rights and citizens’ rights and is another step to materialize the Constitution and the Civil Code.

“The transgender law has been thoroughly drafted I hope that it will be discussed at the mid-year session and adopted at the end-end session of the National Assembly in 2024,” said Deputy Thai Thi An Chung of Nghe An province.

Some deputies suggested the law also covers the LGBT community. The 2015 Civil Code allows transgender but a separate law is needed to detail this issue.
