General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, said public announcements about crimes, especially ones related to the COVID-19 epidemic, have increased since the beginning of the year.

Head of the Government Inspectorate Le Minh Khai said Vietnam has gained many achievements in anti-corruption work, improving political stability and socio-economic development, and enhancing its international reputation.

“The Government continues to identify the fight against corruption as a key task. Inspection, checking, and auditing will be increased in areas at high risk for corruption such as large investment projects, land use management, equitization, SOE restructuring, and public property transfers. The Government is determined not to let corruption take place,” said Mr. Khai.

The Government will review the national strategy on anti-corruption until 2020 and the plan to implement the United Nations Convention against Corruption, and propose to promulgate a strategy and plans on corruption prevention and control during the years to come.
