Legislators urge for wider public access to legal dissemination

The National Assembly Standing Committee met on Tuesday to discuss controversial issues relating to the draft Law on Legal Dissemination and Education and the Law on Handling Administrative Violations. Many lawmakers said that legal dissemination and education should be further socialized to provide the public with better access to legal documents. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked for some adjustments in the draft law to make it more practical and effective. He said: “The bill fails to define the target audience of legal dissemination as well as the responsibilities of citizens and law enforcers. Moreover, administrative procedures have prevented it from reaching a wider public.”
