A seminar entitled “Preserving Long Bien Bridge in urban development” was held on Tuesday in Hanoi. Hosted by Phuong Dong University, the seminar drew leading experts on Vietnamese urban architectural heritage preservation who shared a consensus on the significance of Long Bien Bridge’s technological, artistic, and historical values. Nguyen Quoc Thong, Vice - president Vietnam Architecture Association, said: "Hanoi lacks cultural spaces to sustain the city’s development as a city of cultural heritage. It’s very difficult to create a culturally associated space. In my opinion, it’s Long Bien Bridge that connects cultural spaces necessary for Hanoi in future to satisfy the criteria of a cultural heritage city."
