Macroeconomic report on Ho Chi Minh City released

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Statistics in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) has released the “Ho Chi Minh City Macroeconomic Report: 2023 Results and 2024 Forecast”. This is the first time the city has prepared a publication on macroeconomics which is expected to be published annually.

The report provides a panoramic view of the city’s economic situation as of 2023. It documents the city’s achievements, forecasts, and prospects for 2024, and proposes policy recommendations.

According to the report, Ho Chi Minh City’s economic growth last year recovered stably after suffering the severe effects of the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Quarterly data in 2023 shows that the policies of the city and Vietnam are on the right track to respond to global changes and to seize emerging opportunities.

It forecasts that Ho Chi Minh City’s economy will grow 7.1‑8% this year.
