At a meeting of the Arab League in Cairo, Egypt, Abbas said "Israeli intransigence and practices have crossed all red lines."

Palestine will go to the UN, its agencies, and the Security Council to protest Israel's violations, and will ask for adoption of a Resolution that protects the two-state solution by recognizing Palestine's full UN membership, Abbas said.

In a video address, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the "clear position of the United Nations against unilateral actions", citing Israel’s illegal settlements in East Jerusalem.

King Abdullah II of Jordan, the custodian of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, called on Arab leaders to “promote vigorous efforts to support the recovery of our brothers” in the Palestinian territories.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said Egypt will "continue to work with the conflicting parties to restore the political process and peace in the West Bank and Gaza Strip." Egypt has traditionally played a traditional mediator role in the Middle East.
