According to the Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Heidi Tagliavini, talks were going well but the issues cannot be solved after one meeting. Although participants discussed all the issues on the agenda, including heavy weapons withdrawal and a potential ceasefire, and reached consensus on many issues, Tagliavini said that, the issues discussed were complicated and they had failed to agree on several points. Denis Pushilin of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic stressed the difficult but constructive negotiation process.

Four subgroups, including those on security, political and humanitarian affairs, and the economy were scheduled to meet but the economics group didn’t attend the talks. The upcoming meeting will continue on June 16 and 23.
