Miguel Diaz-Canel nominated to succeed Raul Castro
(VOVWORLD) - Cuba's National Candidature Commission on Wednesday nominated Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez for the posts of State Council President and Ministers’ Council President.
Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez was nominated for the post of State Council President.

Mr. Bermudez is the first Vice President of Cuba and was the secretary of the Party Committees in the provinces of Villa Clara and Holguin.
Earlier, Lazo Hernández was re-elected head of the Cuban legislature.
The National Assembly will hold a secret ballot on Thursday to elect the President, First Vice President, and five other Vice Presidents of the Council of State.
