At the opening ceremony, French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius reviewed the difficulties countries have overcome since France said it will host COP21. He said countries have reached consensus on curbing emissions to limit the rise in global temperatures to 2 Degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. During last month’s negotiation in Bonn, Germany, countries agreed on a draft document on climate which is expected to be approved at COP21.

COP-21 will take place in Le Bourget, France, from Nov 30 to Dec 11.
