Ministry of Home Affairs urged to boost building of legal institutions

(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Home Affairs reviewed its performance this year and discussed plans for next year at a conference in Hanoi on Tuesday. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the Ministry to boost the formulation of legal institutions and complete important draft laws including the Law on the Organization of the Government.

He also called for efforts to increase the effectiveness of state management, accelerate administrative reform, and apply an e-government system. Prime Minister Dung elaborated on plans for next year: “Jobs in state agencies should be streamlined while improving management effectiveness. The government has approved the number of jobs in state agencies in 2015 and there will be no additional jobs even though ministries and provinces proposed an increase of 500.”

Mr. Dung asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to quickly complete the project on job descriptions to specify the functions and responsibilities of each state agency. He said that the Ministry needs to formulate a management mechanism to increase the discipline of state employees, renovate the evaluation of civil servants, and increase the fighting spirit of Party cells in state agencies.
