Minority leader of the US House of Representatives to visit Vietnam

(VOVworld) - US Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, met with Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh in Washington D.C. on Monday, ahead of her visit to Vietnam scheduled for March 30 – April 1.

Pelosi expressed her confidence that Vietnam and the US had significant potential to further develop their comprehensive partnership and reap new successes. She said she looked forward to her coming visit to Vietnam to witness its impressive growth and exchange views to bolster bilateral ties. Ambassador Vinh thanked his host for intensifying ties in her capacity as House leader and a Californian Congresswoman. He promised coordinated efforts with domestic agencies to welcome Pelosi and nine other US congress members to Vietnam. Pelosi’s visit will be the first by a US official as part of celebrations to mark 20 years of normalized Vietnam-US relations.
